Description

ON HOLD

Thank you for visiting! I specialize in making jewelry from second hand purchased or donated items that become something entirely new. I started this project of recycling in the summer of 2010 to learn for myself the techniques of jewelry making and to see where this journey takes me. Stay creative! ♥ ('Like' my work and stay updated on the recycling goodness at Catey's Corner on Facebook.)

Wrong Side Pendant:
This, our time, the night's our day
We'll dance this fading life away.

So in my recently found love for the steampunk style, I began looking up styles and stories and music and I just fell in love with Abney Park's Wrong Side
When I found the song I downloaded it immediately and went back to my project of seeing how many recycled trinkets I could successfully fit in a pendant.

Updated:
Yay! I decided to get rid of the bow...made it look unbalanced and I figured that it would be better to simply get rid of it all together.

The wheel is 14 cm around, outlined with black coiled wire secured via blanket stitch with red floss. Within the wheel, a jade circlet is held as the red floss loops tightly from inside the jade circlet to the outer blanket stitch of the wheel. What once was the bow of the union of the two ends of floss is now a knot covered with a black spider earring.
Hanging on the red floss like dew beads on the spider's web are six faux pearls. The bottom most 'pearl' is highlighted by means of a double golden star earring; the smaller of the two is clasped through the jade circlet, allowing the bottom pearl to sit within the top most point of the larger and hollow star.
A soft black leather necklace was woven through a collection of large and medium tarnish-look links to to convey a sense of depth. The pendant was then secured by two golden triangular links.

Hope you like the final piece!
